  • Do you pay landing fee's
    A landing card is supplied to the home airfield and included in your subscription, you can take off and land as many times as you like however if you land elsewhere you will be required to pay their landing charge on the day.
  • Where do you operate from?
    We will be starting locally in the town of Fareham Hampshire UK. Lee-On-Solent airport is a lovely friendly GA airfield and has great services. Located at the beach, 6min flight to the Isle of White and the south coast touring opportunities. We do plan to grow and open more sites across the UK and beyond.
  • Where will you be based?
    Our first location will be in Hampshire UK. Lee-on-Solent (Solent Airport Daedalus) As we grow, we will select more sites Ranging from 1 to 3 Helicopters across the UK.
  • Is Wingly permitted?
    Yes, the aircraft hire is your time and you are pilot in command. If you feel safe and will not be distracted with unfamiliar passengers it is your choice. This is strictly a cost share option only and no profit can be made on these flights.
  • Can I take friends and family out?
    Please do, this is what makes flying enjoyable. Sharing your love of aviation with people you love.
  • Who do I call if there is a fault with the aircraft?
    At each airport location, there will be a direct line to someone who can help, safety is our #1 priority and it may be deemed you can not fly due to this fault and it will be repaired as soon as humanly possible.
  • If I don't fly can I cancel my membership?
    The membership is a minimum of 12 Months subject to renewal. You can request cancellation on the final month of that membership year.
  • Membership Rates
    Our membership has three different plans to choose from running over 12 months, paid each month Including VAT. The Hire rate including fuel is £317 inc vat for the aircraft Plans will start on the date of your check-ride approval and when you have full access to hire. You will be required to pay the local training school their fees to complete the check ride process. Plans are subject to inflation and reviewed on renewal.
  • How do I join?
    Joining will be as simple as creating a profile on our website, uploading your medical, licenses and Contact/payment details. You will receive information on how we operate and an invitation to complete your check ride with a local instructor. As soon as your documents have been verified and you have been signed off by the instructor your have full access to an aircraft. A face to face meet at the airfield Is the final stage, your be feeling confident and excited to use the service in no time at all.
  • Safety Requirements
    We work with local training schools near each site location to ensure your proficiency is maintained and if you fail to fly within 56 days between flights an instructor can quickly sign you off.
  • How are logs and invoices recorded?
    We use an online system that uses a profile per member and a magic black box within the aircraft that monitors all aspects of the engine start, flight path and time. You will, to the second automatically billed at the end of your hire. No paperwork, no fuss, no confusion.
  • Can I use the aircraft for longer trips and stay overnight?
    Yes of course, We happily promote this. Enjoy the machine on holidays and weekend breaks. There is a fair usage policy in place to ensure all members can enjoy the aircraft through the year.
  • Are you Part NCC compliant?
    Non-commercial flights in complex motor-powered aircraft Will be fully adhered to with the CAA. Operators must: Have an operations manual. Have a management system. Have an approved minimum equipment list (MEL) for each aircraft. Complete and submit a declaration to us which details their aircraft type, their operational and continuing airworthiness arrangements, any approvals held etc. Ensure that the pilot(s) flying the aircraft hold(s) a Part-FCL licence or a validation issued under Annex III to Part-FCL.
  • Can members cost share?
    Yes, If anything we should all cost share more. This gives you more hours in an aircraft and better yet share the time with someone else who enjoys it just as much as you do. This could be half or 3rd your Flight cost per hour.
  • Do you have a club room?
    No, not yet anyway. Our goal is to grow and once we have a healthy membership group it will be financially viable to add a club room to suitable locations across the UK.
  • Can I fly to France?
    Yes, Flying to France is a very fun and exciting trip. Take your family to Le Touquet airport and cycle to the beach. It's all possible when you can fly almost anywhere.
  • Why use Rotors for hire?
    We are fully committed to solely hiring our aircraft out to members only, no training, commercial flights or Sightseeing tours are permitted. You will have seamless access to the machine and a clear diary view of when other members have pre-booked. The system is designed to be clean, simple and easy to use to give you the best experience as if you owned the aircraft. On top of this, we are fully insured above and beyond the minimum. 10,000,000 Liability plus passenger cover in the event of an accident.
  • Is there a joining fee?
    Yes, a one off joining fee of £198 including VAT is payable on all new memberships.
  • Out of order aircraft
    In the event of an aircraft being out of order for a prolonged period a cover aircraft of similar spec will be arranged at the airfield of operation.
  • Can we hire out of hours?
    Yes, Access is possible via a pin code gate. You will need to remove the covers from the helicopter, complete the "A" check and report any faults/damage prior to flight. The aircraft will have 25 Gallons minimum but if you require more fuel you would need to request this the day before your flight with the airport operator. You are only permitted to depart with a clearance from the airport operator, this will be subject to a surge-change payable to the operator.
  • How many hours do you require to hire?
    You must have obtained your PPL (H) with 60 hours total logged and 25 Hours of this is on Type.
  • How do I become a pilot?
    We can introduce you to one of our trusted flight schools in the local area and they will look after you all the way to Captain. You will need 45 Hours min before you can take your skills test and complete 9 Exam papers. Approx cost is £32,000inc VAT
  • How many Helicopters will we have access to?
    Rotors will start at each site location with one Robinson R44 Helicopter and once member volume increases additional aircraft will be added.
  • Founding Members
    We are currently only gaining interest for this service in the local area and all submissions will automatically become Founding members if they continue to join once we are ready. We are so excited and can't wait to meet you all.
